By diving into that story together, I can help guide you in understanding yourself and charting a course for future growth. As we walk this path together, we will work toward self-acceptance, empowerment, and joy.

    Maryam Edun, LMSW (she/her)

Welcome! My name is Maryam (she/her) and I use an integrative, client centered, strengths based approach to facilitate growth and development on your mental health journey. As a former researcher, I am passionate about measurable outcomes and evidence based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFTB). I gently support my clients in developing objectives and measuring progress in a patient, empathetic and unassuming way. Working towards goals can feel overwhelming and we often find ourselves feeling stuck. Together, we break goals down into smaller, easier to manage tasks and we work to understand how to overcome the task paralysis that tends to stand in our way.

I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can fully be yourself. While obtaining my Bachelor’s in Psychology from University of Central Florida and my Master of Social Work from Fordham University, I developed a passion for human rights and social justice. My experiences as a Guyanese-American, daughter of immigrants, with Asian and Native American heritage, provide me with unique insight and understanding of the various nuances of intersectionality and the complex ways in which ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, and religion can affect an individual. I recognize the strength it takes to overcome the stigma and various challenges associated with choosing to embark on your mental health journey, especially for certain populations. • female new york therapist

    Lindsay Wheeler, LMSW (she/they)

Welcome! I’m Lindsay (she/they) and my goal is that you feel safe and seen while working with me. You deserve to always feel seen for precisely who you are—especially in a therapeutic relationship. I vow to protect your journey and ensure you feel that way here.

I feel strongly that creativity is an avenue to healing and I love engaging in creative activities both in my own life and in the therapy room. If you’re interested in creative expression and/or therapeutic writing, we can incorporate creativity in our course of treatment. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of storytelling, and any story you tell will be received without judgment and with care and affirmation.

As a queer therapist, I practice with an emphasis on sexuality and gender affirming care, as well as on creating a supportive and empathetic therapeutic relationship. I am passionate about fostering a joyful environment that celebrates and affirms LGBTQIA+ identity and gender expansiveness. In therapy, clients are free to explore who they are in a space that exists outside of society’s dominant narrative. Intersectionality is the framework on which all my work rests, and I recognize the way power, privilege, and oppression impact my clients both inside and outside of the therapy room.

My work is tailored specifically to each client’s needs and desires, with an emphasis on person-centered, supportive care. I am dedicated to my clients and receptive to client feedback, prepared at every juncture to pivot or try new approaches. In a world that tries to tell us who we are at every turn, I approach the therapeutic relationship with an understanding that you know yourself better than anyone else ever will. I am intentional about fostering personal autonomy, and receptive to the feelings, thoughts, and needs that make up your internal experience at any moment. I prioritize approachability, bringing a gentle lightheartedness to the room and humor when appropriate. I recognize the strength and courage it takes to navigate stigma and seek guidance, and I will honor your strength by walking beside you with great care. • Angela Ramil Female Therapist New York

    Angela Ramil, LMSW (she/her)

Hello & welcome! Thank you for taking a moment to learn a little bit about me, and for letting me join you on your therapy journey. Above all, it is your journey to make – but it is not one you need to make alone!

Whether you’re new to therapy or a seasoned veteran like me, I believe successful therapy begins with a strong therapeutic alliance. For me, that foundation is built on understanding not only your experience, but how you perceive and carry it in your life. I strive to create a safe, trusting environment and will work with you to identify and define clear goals. I believe the work is done as you are ready for it. It is you who will have the power to determine what you are ready to share, and at what pace.

Have you ever thought to yourself, “I shouldn’t feel this way, it doesn’t make sense”? Through a person-centered approach, we will untangle the internal conflict created when the messages from the rational and emotional mind are in contradiction.

As an EMDR-trained therapist, I work closely with those struggling with troubling emotions that interfere in day-to-day life. Together we can work to help remember, or even discover for the first time, what it means to truly live instead of just survive. I am also certified in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to work with those struggling with OCD.

Hi there! I’m Maddie (she/her/hers). I have been in the field of social work for close to 6 years and have worked in various settings which has informed how I strive to practice today. I genuinely love what I do and care deeply about my clients.

I would describe myself as professional, approachable, and above all else, human. As a therapist who has not “reached the top of the mountain” (as if there were such a thing), I acknowledge that I, too, am on my own continued journey of growth.

Therapy is both a beautiful and painful process that untangles the many aspects that make you uniquely you. I utilize an eclectic approach and incorporate elements of various modalities tailored to your individual needs. My experience, to date, has been informed by cognitive behavioral therapy based models (CBT, DBT skills, and elements of ACT). Throughout our time together you can expect that I will be compassionately curious about the interplay of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and how that impacts you in the here and now. I find that I am most helpful to clients who want to untangle their thought patterns, regulate their emotions, or make changes in their lives. Our ways of moving through the world develop for good reason-let’s explore together.

Outside of the therapy space you can find me spending time with family and friends, watching the latest Bravo franchise, listening to audiobooks, or enjoying a walk outside.

    Katherine L. Clark, LCSW (she/her)

Greetings! I can’t wait to meet you. I am a New York-based therapist with over five years of experience working with individuals (children, teens, and adults), families, and groups, with an emphasis on trauma-informed work and DBT.

Perhaps like your path to therapy, my journey to becoming a therapist has been filled with unexpected twists and discoveries. Before earning my MSW in 2016 at the Silberman School of Social Work (Hunter College), I spent years creating therapeutic and political theatre. When I made the shift into trauma-informed clinical work, I began to understand, at an even greater depth, the work that each individual client brings to the table to catalyze personal change. At heart, I am a storyteller, and my goal is to help others understand and navigate their own stories with support and person-centered care.

I am passionate about making small, sustainable, and empowering changes with my clients based on their strengths, unique interests, and desires. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Parent Child Interactive Therapy, working with others to understand and shape behavior, so my clients can gain confidence in lifestyle changes and coping strategies. I hope you find me warm, eager to laugh with you, genuine, and committed to holding you accountable to the goals that you identify in treatment.

As a Neurospicy mom of a toddler with special needs, I seek to celebrate the unique super powers of every different person, brain, and personality. I know that we are all extraordinary in our complexity, and I am deeply committed to ensuring that you feel affirmed.

    Kayla Elder, LCSW (she/her)

Welcome! My name is Kayla (she/her), I am a trauma-informed and culturally competent Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Supporting individuals on their mental health journey is my passion. Finding a new therapist can sometimes feel overwhelming, but I believe in creating a warm and welcoming space for my clients to feel accepted, safe, and motivated in. I take a client-centered approach to therapy and feel strongly that a person should be in the driver’s seat of their own wellness. It is my goal to facilitate empowerment in my clients and to give them the tools to reach their goals throughout the treatment process.

I received both my BSW and MSW at SUNY Albany and have been living and practicing in upstate New York ever since. I have ample experience working with adults who have experienced trauma, neurodivergent individuals, and clients who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as those who struggle with severe mental illness. I take a client-centered and trauma-informed approach to treatment and often draw on a variety of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). In taking an eclectic approach to therapy, I am able to meet my clients where they’re at and make treatment planning a collaboration while utilizing techniques that best fit each individual. A core value of mine as a practitioner is to form a healthy therapeutic bond based on empathy, openness, and non-judgement; this will allow me to best support my clients in achieving their goals while being their most authentic self in a safe and trusted environment.

Just a bit about myself: I am a Star Trek aficionado, an expert at Lego video games, and a mom to a sweet one-eyed black cat named Ajani. I enjoy listening to audiobooks and creative writing in my spare time.

  • Gina Pellicci Female Therapist New York

Gina Pellicci, LCSW, Clinical Director (she/her)

Welcome! Making the choice to come to therapy is really hard. I’m glad you’re here.

I am a sex-positive, trauma informed clinician specialized in working with individuals who are queer, TGNCNB, non-monogamous, kinky and/or disabled as well as with relationships in general. I have a lot of experience working with those diagnosed with personality disorders and OCD. I believe one of the most important components of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and the client. My approach is client-centered, and together we will create a therapy space that feels safe, effective and comfortable for you.

As a therapist, I am warm and supportive while also making sure to hold my clients accountable when necessary. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as Mentalization Based Therapy, and will often pull on some of these techniques while bringing in other areas of focus that are important for you.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ and disabled communities, thinking about the way systems impact our mental health is a key part of the way I work. I believe in deconstructing the parts of therapy that could potentially be harmful to clients of marginalized identities. I am constantly educating myself in order to improve and be more informed, and encourage my clients to do the same when they are wanting to engage in that work.

I also have experience working with children who are thinking about their gender identity, and providing support to family members.

    Gina sees:
    - Ages 12+

    -Couples

    Specialties:
    - Sex Positivity

  • Emily Oliver Female Therapist New York

Emily Oliver, LCSW, Practice Owner (she/her)

Meet Emily in her intro video here!

Selecting a therapist is hard! It can be so intimidating to find the right fit. For me, it’s so important that I create a space that is warm, affirming, and invites vulnerability. I truly believe that you are the expert of your experience. My approach is empowering and person-centered, and I would describe my presence as authentic and grounding. Sessions often include laughter, stimming, creativity, letting tears flow, swearing, SO MUCH sarcasm, and really getting to the root of things.

I specialize in the treatment of complex trauma, especially for neurodivergent clients. As a neurodivergent therapist and trauma survivor, I love connecting with my clients in a way that allows them to feel seen, maybe for the first time ever, and creating a feeling of safety around that. I love being the person who can help you realize you are valuable, and that your authentic self (layered under safety mechanisms and masks) is amazing and deserves to be out in the world.

I am trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, and MBSR, and I have significant experience with somatic psychotherapy, CBT, and polyvagal theory. I always practice through a trauma-informed lens, and inform my practice through ongoing continuing education and individual work around cultural competency, systemic injustice, and personal privilege.

My work is informed by cutting-edge research and techniques that reflect the amazing progress we have made in learning about how the brain and body respond to trauma, and how we can embrace the potential of neuroplasticity to harness our inherent capacity for recovery and growth.

In addition to my work in private practice and my lived experiences, I gained invaluable experience in the treatment of trauma through the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, the Trauma Institute, and various amazing mentors. I am also the Founder and Director of a nationwide non-profit addressing issues of systemic injustice within the mental health system, and I am working to build a group practice that offers a truly warm and safe place for clients to receive treatment, and for therapists to have an awesome place to work, both using a social-justice-informed lens.
